A HUGE MONTH
OF EVENTS

August 2024

July has been a huge month of events for Cobram Barooga.

CBBT have facilitated or supported the hosting of the following:

Vic Ultimate University Games

Victorian Junior Golf Championships

NSW PSSA Football Camps

Victorian Women's Golf Getaway

Victorian Mid-Amateur Golf Championships

These 5 events brought 1050+ visitors to town for more than 16 nights and generated a direct spend of over $775,000.

With the support of Moira Shire Council and the Victorian Government, each visitor was provided with a Why Leave Town Card with a $10 credit on it to encourage visitors to get out and explore our towns.

these events, held out of peak holiday season in the middle of winter provide a shot in the arm for local businesses.

A NEW WORLD CLASS
ATTRACTION

July 2024

Last month saw the opening of a fantastic new attraction for the region in Bullanginya Dreaming in Barooga.

This $1.5m dollar Luminor Light Journey has been described as World Class and we agree.

Telling the story of the Murray River, our native flora and fauna and our Traditional Owners, the Bangarang visitors are taken through a breathtaking multimedia journey along the Bullanginya Lagoon.

We have no doubt this new attraction will bring thousands of new visitors to the region.

PLANNING SUBMISSIONS
FOR THOMPSONS BEACH

June 2024

The development of a new Master Plan is a key priority of CBBT and we have been working diligently to see this come to fruition over the last 5 years.

In 2023 we were successful in obtaining $100,000 in funding from the Moira Shire for this purpose.

Also in 2023 we were successful in lobbying Goulburn Regional Partnerships to adopt the development of Thompson's Beach and Kennedy Park as a priority project for the region

We have now partnered with Moira Shire to use the $100,000 funding to go towards much more significant applications under the Federal Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program and Victorian Regional Tourism Infrastructure Fund. We hope to hear the outcomes of these applications in the second half of 2024.
